WHO/Europe study about digital health technologies accesibility

A WHO/Europe study has found that digital health technologies are not accessible to all communities and areas in Europe equally, raising concerns over the equitable use of digital tools for health. People with poor health are among the ones struggling the most in accessing these tools.

Lable2Enable european project

The Lable2Enable initiative invites health professionals to participate in a survey and share their opinions on what they look for when recommending health and wellness digital apps. This Horizon Europe project aims to promote the adoption of a quality label for health and wellness apps and encourage the uptake of good quality health apps that can be used at scale in prevention, health care and self-care.

Capability Frame for digital transformation of the workforce

A capability framework that will enable the health and care workforce in England to build up skills in artificial intelligence and digital healthcare technologies, published by Health Education England. The Capability Framework identifies gaps in the current knowledge of health and care staff and lays out a path to support the digital transformation of the workforce.

Can people afford to pay for health care?

New evidence on financial protection in Romania

Financial protection is central to universal health coverage and a core dimension of health system performance. The incidence of catastrophic health spending is high in Romania compared to many countries in the European Union and higher than expected given Romania’s relatively low reliance on out-of-pocket payments to finance the health system. It is heavily concentrated among poorer households and older people, reflecting gaps in all three dimensions of health coverage (‎population entitlement, service coverage and user charges)‎, weaknesses in purchasing policy and low levels of public spending on health.
